Beginning of Training
In Chinese tradition learning has always been highly valued: a person's whole career once depended on success in the examinations. So the beginning of studies is one of the classic matters for which a date is chosen. On a lucky day knowledge is believed to sink in more easily, the teacher turns out to be "the right one", and interest in the subject does not fade.

How the Calendar rates the day. For the beginning of training the favourable Day Officers are Control, Open, Balance, Collect, Stable, Success and Establish. Collect is especially fitting: you are "collecting" knowledge. The unfavourable ones are Close, Full, Destruction and Remove. Among the lunar mansions, Maiden, Stomach, Dipper, Bow, Room, Wall and Guardian are among the good ones, while Ghost and Willow are unfavourable. The key star of this query is the Academic Star, the patron of learning. The Noble Man (a good teacher), the Heavenly and Monthly Stars of Virtue and the Three Mystics help too. The day is weakened by the Star of Losses, the Day of Lost Time, the Extinction Day, the Separating Day, Destruction in the Day, Self Penalty and a Clash of the Year or of the Month.
