This lunar mansion is closely related to the previous one (Demon, Gui). In ancient times, the Chinese imagined the twenty-third constellation of the Demon as willow tree pollen scattered by the wind. Willow branches were used in funeral processions and rituals, and therefore Willow is a symbol of tears. Days ruled by Liu-Willow are extremely unfavorable for almost everything. On such days, no business transactions or deals can be carried out. Do not do such important things on this day as starting a business, working in a new place, buying shares and property, or concluding agreements. Moreover, the day of the Willow is considered unsuitable even for a funeral! Willow, as follows from its image, controls vegetation.
“Building, manufacturing, and having wedding ceremonies will lead to happiness. Funeral ceremonies — to misfortune.”
